DNP is not fit for human consumption. Ingestion can cause a rapid and uncontrollable increase in body temperature (hyperthermia), leading to organ failure, metabolic collapse, and death. There is no known antidote for DNP poisoning.

Because of these severe risks to life and safety, assistance with acquiring this chemical cannot be provided.

In its dry form, DNP is classified as a sensitive and powerful explosive. For industrial use, it is typically handled only by professionals and stored "wetted" to reduce the risk of spontaneous detonation.
